At the SA Music Awards (SAMAs), Nathi Mankayi, DJ Black Coffee and Emtee were the big winners on a night that was more about fashion than music.
Nathi bagged five awards for his album Buyelekhaya and hit single Nomvula at the glitzy event held at the Durban ICC on Saturday.
Nathi walked away with awards for Best R&B/Soul/Reggae Album, Best Newcomer, Best Male Artist, Best-selling Full-track Music Download and Best-selling Album of the Year.
DJ Black Coffee came out tops in the Best Engineered Album, Best Dance Album and Best Album categories.
He was also awarded the International Achievement Award.
Emtee staked his claim as the rising star of the local hip hop scene, scooping awards for Best Rap Album and Record of the Year Award.
Other winners on the night were Zonke (Female Artist of the Year), Best Rock Album was Desmond and the Tutu’s Enjoy Yourself, and Best Music Video of the Year went to Jack Parow and Freshly Ground for Army of One.
Meanwhile, all eyes were on the red carpet to see who was wearing what.
SAMA reporter and TV presenter Bonang Matheba looked stunning in a shimmering silver dress.
Her boyfriend, rapper AKA, looked dashing in a tuxedo.
Actress Pearl Thusi must have pneumonia this morning after wearing what can only be described as a bridal gown with the whole front ripped away.
Also leaving nothing to the imagination was TV host Boity Thulo, whose transparent sheer blue gown caused a Twitter frenzy.
And did we mention geldgat Kenny Kunene made an appearance too in an outrageous animal skin coat and bright yellow takkies?
