Kagiso Rabada is everyone’s darling after the Proteas pace ace led his side to a 177-run triumph at the Waca on Monday.
And skipper Faf du Plessis says he will give his 5/92 man of the match some TLC after his 32-over fourth-innings display.
Faf is quoted by Fox Sports saying: “I am sleeping with him tonight.
“Every time I said to him ‘KG are you tired, are you done?’ he was like ‘no, you’re not taking the ball out of my hands’.
“That’s the sign of a champion bowler for me. Just someone who wants to be in the fight the whole time.’’
“I’m just incredibly proud of him. I have a lot of respect for anyone that really, really puts their hand up and KG just wanted the ball.”
Aussie legends Mark Taylor, Michael Clarke, Shane Warne, Ian Healy and Michael Slater were all raving about the 21-year-old after his 5/92 in 32 fourth-innings overs.
Taylor, speaking on commentary for Channel Nine, said Rabada’s skill set was remarkable for someone so young.
Healy, a former wicket-keeper, went one better, saying that Rabada had produced “the best bowling I’ve seen since Wasim Akram”, after Rabada had tormented the Aussies.
