Arsenal look set to complete a move for Jamie Vardy this week.
Reports suggest that the poster boy for Leicester’s fairytale Premier League title success is all set to join the Gunners.
And it seems that the league runners-up and the champions have struck a deal with eye on wrapping up the move before Vardy turns out for England at the Euros this weekend, with the 29-year-old reportedly |having a medical at Arsenal.
Arsenal made their move on Friday, triggering a release clause in Vardy’s contract.
The 24-goal striker is allowed to join a Champions League-qualified side for £20m.
The player is said to be keen on the switch to the north London side.
And those reports were confirmed by both Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri and possible future strike partner Olivier Giroud.
Asked by the Italian press about the Vardy reports, Ranieri says: “It’s all true.”
Meanwhile, France hitman Giroud tells SkySports: “I’ve been told Jamie wants to join us. It’s a very good move for us. I think we can complement each other. That’s all I can say, he is a fantastic player, so yeah, it’s a good move for us.”
Vardy has apparently agreed to the huge £120 000-a-week deal at the Emirates.
