STAYING PUT: Riyad Mahrez

Leicester star snubs Arsenal ahead of big Prem face-off.

Premier League
champions Leicester and runners-up Arsenal are both looking for their first win of the season when they clash at the King Power Stadium tomorrow (6.30pm).

But the Foxes have already got one over the Gunners as reported Arsenal target Riyad Mahrez
committed his future to Claudio Ranieri’s team yesterday.

The reigning PFA Player of Year has ended speculation over his future by signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until June 2020.

It’s the second time in the transfer window that a Leicester hero has snubbed the Gunners after 24-goal ace Jamie Vardy rejected a move to north London.

And now Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has bee forced to urge frustrated fans to be patient and has reassured supporters that they are keen to recruit before the end of the month.

Wenger’s one significant signing – Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka – looks inadequate as Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobi got injured in the last week’s 4-3 loss to Liverpool, when his backline including youngsters Rob Holding and Calum Chambers was exposed.

But the Frenchman says: “We’re not scared to spend money, but to buy
in itself is not a quality, to buy good players is.

Arsenal are interested by Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi, according to reports in the British media, but Wenger refused to reveal any specific transfer targets.
