Disgraced former South African cricketer Thami Tsolokile has been released on warning after being arrested for assaulting a 14-year-old learner.
Tsolokile was arrested last week Thursday following an incident near Pinelands High School, where he allegedly assaulted a learner from the school after the pupil allegedly threw stones at his vehicle.
Yesterday the accused made a brief appearance at the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court where he was formally charged with assault.
Dressed casually in black jeans and a jacket, the 35-year-old stood calmly before Magistrate Sean Lee as prosecutors told the court he was out on a warning.
Tsolokile is one of four cricketers to be banned from the match by Cricket South Africa for ‘contriving to fix a match’ during the 2015 Ram Slam T20 in 2015.
Tsolokile was served with a 12 year suspension last month which came into effect on August, 1st.
