Outspoken former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor has slammed President Jacob Zuma on Facebook for failing to respond to Public Protector Thuli Madonsela’s questions on state capture.
In the post on Monday, Mentor, who chaired the portfolio committee on public enterprises in Parliament, accused Zuma of lies and hiding behind state power.
She said Zuma needed to account and he should not try and block Madonsela from releasing her report into state capture.
She said Zuma was given six months to respond to Madonsela and waited until the last minute because of bullying tactics, reports IOL.
Mentor also challenged Zuma to a public debate on state capture after Madonsela had released her report.
Her attack on Zuma came after the president on Monday tried to block Madonsela from concluding her investigation or releasing her report.
Zuma told Madonsela he needed to question some of the witnesses, who include some of his ministers, and get the other evidence to be able to respond.
But Mentor said Zuma was wasting his time, and was hiding behind his office to dodge accountability.
