This Cape Flats dad has the fourth best muscles in the world.
Jason Kleinsmidt, 56, of Mitchells Plain, came fourth in his category after competing in the Natural Bodybuilding Olympics in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Jason shared the stage with 486 competitors at Mr and Miss Olympia 2016.
On Saturday, Jason, who works in the office of Community Safety MEC Dan Plato, competed against 12 other men in the Masters category, for men 50 years and older.
He landed in Cape Town on Thursday bringing home a silver medal.
In first place was America, followed by Australia and Czech Republic.
Jason tells Daily Voice: “I am proud and the others did their homework so I must commend them.”
He already has his sights set on the next competition.
“From here I will take a break for a week and eat what I want to as opposed to being on a strict protein diet.
“I will be preparing myself for the INBA (International Natural Bodybuilding Association) champs in Italy in June 2017.”
In June, Jason, who weighs over 90 kilograms and stands 1.8 metres tall, won gold in Hungary at the 2016 INBA championships.
He is now among the top six bodybuilders in his age group in the world, and has competed against men from 35 countries around the world.
Jason was also the first black South African to compete in Mr Universe in London 1995 following the democratic elections.
He also won the South African title in natural bodybuilding 10 times between 1992 and 2007.
