The body count in Delft has now risen to a shocking 27 people who have been murdered in less than a month.
Yesterday at 2.30am, police were called to Kaneelblom Street, Roosendal, where a 29-year-old man had been shot and killed.
Police have not indicated whether the shooting was related to the ongoing gang violence between rival gangs the 26s, 28s and Terrible Josters.
No arrests were made.
Constable Noloyiso Rwexana explains: “Police attended to a shooting incident at Kaneelblom Crescent, Roosendal, Delft and found a 29-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his body.”
Yesterday, MEC for Community Safety, Dan Plato, was not available for comment following reports that extra manpower had been deployed to the area last week in an effort to curb the violence.
Most of the killers’ modus operandi involves shooting victims in the head at close range.
Residents are speculating whether the murders are random or the work of a gang.
The death toll reached 26 on Saturday night after two men were shot and killed in Omsambeet Road, Delft South.
On Sunday, a 28-year-old man was stabbed to deaths in Bard Crescent, Leiden.
Previous victims include dad of three, Bradley Williams, 34, who was shot in Roosendal last week after visiting a friend.
