Khayelitsha cops have arrested a woman after a huge stash of dagga worth nearly R50 000 was found in a house.
Police spokesman Captain FC Van Wyk says the bust was made on Tuesday at about 12.10, after cops received a tip-off.
“Khayelitsha Crime Prevention members received information from the community of dagga at a house in CCT-Block, Taiwan which they followed up.
“On arrival, members approached a female on the premises who acknowledged that there was dagga at the house, and they found 503 parcels dagga in two containers in the bedroom.
“The estimated street value is approximately R49 000.”
He added that the suspect, a 41-year-old woman, was arrested and will appear in court once she has been charged.
