The Currie Cup returns this weekend and hopefully it will lift the mood of rugby supporters throughout the country a bit.
If Saru decides to make all the Springboks available for the semifinals, we should be in for some interesting viewing.
With Western Province travelling to Loftus to face the Blue Bulls, some of the battles that will be of interest to fans include the possible Jesse Kriel v Juan de Jongh one.
Midfielders in South Africa seem to miss the spark of a Robbie Fleck or Danie Gerber nowadays.
And this duel highlights that.
Kriel and De Jongh are the guys that have worn the No.13 jersey for the Boks in the last two games.
And neither of them really screams excitement. So hopefully they will give us their best at a level that perhaps suits them best.
Another duel that might be worth watching is at hooker where Adriaan Strauss might go up against Bongi Mbonambi.
Although not a Bismarck du Plessis v Strauss at his best duel, this is apparently the best the country has to offer in this position at the moment.
We will see running rugby in the semis and it will look beautiful, but the question remains; are these guys good enough to do it and international level?
