Cape Town City play their first away game in the PSL tonight when they visit Golden Arrows (7.30pm).
They will have to learn from the harsh lessons they were handed by Wits in their 3-0 pakslae in their MTN8 semifinal first leg last Saturday.
Their biggest problem was not getting off to a fast start as their defence was caught cold by the Students’ devastating attack.
Coach Eric Tinkler slammed his squad for the way his backline failed to compete and the midfield giving away possession close to their goal.
After the Wits hiding, Tinkler said: “First 45 minutes, dismal to be entirely honest, I thought we started extremely poorly.
“We said in order to win this game we needed to match them in terms of aggression.
“We didn’t win a ball, a challenge, every first and second ball they won it, we didn’t stop the crosses coming into the box and looked really disorganised and poor in the first half, which was extremely disappointing.
“Learning curve, that’s important. It’s a learning curve for the players. Now we’ve got to start bucking down, working hard, we’ve got another away game now against [Golden] Arrows [on Wednesday], start focusing on that.”
