City gets Cape ball rolling

Cape Town City will get the ball rolling in the Mother City when the PSL season kicks off.

The top-flight new boys will host Polokwane City at Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday August 23 (7.30pm).

Local rivals Ajax Cape Town will be in action at the same time, but will travel to Limpopo to face upstarts Baroka FC who have been talking up their ambitions in the top flight.

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and PSL runners-up Wits headline the opening day action with a mouthwatering clash at Milpark.

Orlando Pirates welcome Golden Arrows to Soweto on Wednesday (7.30pm).

Meanwhile, champions Mamelodi Sundowns only start the defence of their title on September 14 due to their commitments in the Caf Champions League semifinals.
