When this toddler starts praying, adults are so moved that they cry and give their hearts to Jesus.
Three-year-old Jordan Swarts has made it his business to preach to his family and neighbours, urging them to go back to church and seek the Lord.
The laaitie was recently asked to say the opening prayer at the relaunch of the Little Wonders Educare by Pastor Douglas Bell, who is now mentoring little Jordan and his twin brother Jayden.
The pastor says he spotted Jordan while visiting Wallacedene in Kraaifontein one day, while he was busy praying, in Afrikaans, for drunk people in the area.
Although Jayden seems to be the shy one, Jordan has no problem spreading the word and recently also prayed in front of Pastor Bell’s congregation in Kraaifontein.
Asked where he learnt to pray like that, Jordan says he loves to pray: “Ons hou van bid, ons is kerkbroers (We love praying, we are church brothers).”
When praying, Jordan raises his right hand, and begs God to bring people back to the church.
“Here, bring mense terug kerk toe. Here die wêreld is wreed. Ons moet vir die mense bid, hulle moet kerk toe kom, ((Lord, bring the people back to church, the world is in chaos. We must pray for the people, they must come to church)” he says solemnly.
Pastor Bell says Jordan and Jayden can pray better than most adults, even though they’ve never been to church before.
“I don’t know many adults who can pray like this. Hy bid wat in sy mind kom (He prays about whatever comes to mind), and that’s the most incredible thing. Neither his mother nor father attends church but the way this boy prays is astonishing. Die seuns gaan wonderlike godsmanne wees (These boys will be wonderful men of God),” Pastor Bell says.
The pastor has now taken the boys under his wing, and appeals to mense wanting to make a difference in their lives to contact him.
“I make sure they get to church every Sunday. I took these boys under my wing because they are living in dire circumstances. Anything would help,” Pastor Bell says.
