THE court case of the man accused of crashing into TV presenter Simba Mhere’s car and killing him continued in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The Top Billing presenter and his friend Kady-Shay O’Bryan were driving on William Nicol Drive in Fourways, Johannesburg, on January 31 last year when the accident took place.
Preshalin Naidoo, 24, was the driver of the car that crashed into Simba and is now on trial and faces two charges of culpable homicide.
Yesterday his lawyers argued that they had not been given access to all the evidence relating to the car crash.
Naidoo’s lawyer Francois Roots told the court: “The state cannot dish out evidence as they please. The defence needs copies of all the documents it intends to use in the case.”
The state advocates defended themselves, claiming the defence has all the copies of evidence they need and that they had no interest in delaying the court case.
The trial will continue today.
