Manchester United legend Paul Scholes doesn’t thing Paul Pogba is worth the world record £110m his old club is set to offer for the Juventus midfielder.
A deal is close for the France star after reports that his agent has flown to his client, holidayig in Miami, to iron out the finer details of a deal that will take him back to Old Trafford.
But Scholes, who won 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League with the Red Devils, says the geld is ridiculous.
Pogba says: “He was a very talented young player, I played with him and I knew how good he was.
“I just don’t think he is worth it. For that sort of money, you want someone who is going to score 50 goals a season like Ronaldo or Messi. Pogba is nowhere there yet.”
Scholes also praised Manchester City’s capture of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan for a fee worth around £20 million.
“I think Gundogan is a really impressive player. I’ve seen a lot of him at Borussia Dortmund.”
“If he can stay fit, I think he can be a fantastic player. I also think he is great value for the money paid for him. I think he is a bargain.”
