Carl Wastie has dropped the mic at Good Hope FM to join the line-up at rival station KFM.
Wastie starts October 3, and will man the 1pm to 4pm timeslot.
“Radio is my first love and joining the KFM team is going to be an incredible adventure and a chance to create something new. A genuine, honest relationship with listeners is critical for me – continuing that journey with this, on a new platform, is very exciting!” says Wastie.
KFM has also announced a shake-up in their daily line-up.
Among others, Ryan O’Connor’s Breakfast Show has been extended by an hour, while a new listener-driven show was also added.
Between 10am and 11am, listeners can send in Voicenotes with their dedications and requests.
Ian Bredenkamp moves to the Weekend Breakfast show — focusing on “hyper-local content”, covering events and lifestyle topics.
KFM manager Colleen Louw says: “Over the last few months, we’ve been working on creating a fresher line-up on KFM and introducing WhatsApp in the overall mix of our sound. The uptake of WhatsApp has been seamless and has opened another dimension to the sound of Cape Town through our listeners.”
Sechaba G is on between 11am and 1pm, while Rob Vember remains on Drivetime.
