Bring Kelly back to us

Kelly Moses, 16, and Aneekah Ismail, 23, were last seen on Thursday morning at Oval North Secondary School in Beacon Valley.

Mother pleads for return of teenage girl after she disappears with female friend.

The family of a missing Mitchells Plain teenager has pleaded for her to come home.

Pretty Kelly Moses, 16, and her friend Aneekah Ismail, 23, from Athlone, disappeared five days ago.

Her family suspects Kelly has run away because personal belongings like clothing and her Bible are missing.

The two young women were last seen on Thursday at 9.30am, when Aneeka came to pick up Kelly in her car at her home in Buffalo Street, Eastridge.

Kelly went to fetch her end-of-term report from her school, Oval North High, in Beacon Valley, but was instructed by a teacher to return at 3pm.

However, she never went back, and that was the last time the two were seen.

Yesterday, Kelly’s distraught mother, Ghaleema Eldeib, 36, and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Solomons, 77, told the Daily Voice the young women met through friends in December last year.

They say Aneekah graduated recently from university while Kelly is in Grade 10.

Elizabeth says she knows Kelly went with Aneekah to get her report.

“But when they arrived at the school, the teacher wasn’t there and they were told to go back at 3pm,” she says.

“But when it became 5pm, I became worried because Aneekah always brings her back home.

“We then noticed her cellphone was off and her clothing missing, and also her Bible.

“Kelly is converted and serves the Lord with me.”

Ghaleema says she collected Kelly’s report from school the next day.

She’s now appealed to Aneekah to bring her child back.

“I want my daughter back, and please tell them we will not be angry,” the distraught mom tells Daily Voice.

“We miss her very much. Everything will be OK; we will not be upset with anyone.”

Neither Aneekah’s parents nor family spokesman Ridwaan Nero responded to calls for comment.

On Sunday, the family had searched Wolfgat, near Baden Powell Drive, after receiving information that “her body had been dumped there”. However, nothing was found.

Police asked mense to be on the lookout for Aneeka’s purple Ford Fiesta with a black bonnet, registration CA 691871.

Anyone with information may call Sergeant Naik or Sergeant Ngomane on 021 370 1600.
