Cops are searching for a unidentified woman who allegedly left a toddler with security.

Police are looking for the family of this two-year-old boy who was abandoned at a local hospital, allegedly by his own mother.

Police say an unidentified woman is believed to have left the child with security guards at the gates of Tygerberg Hospital in Bellville last week.

Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana says: “According to information, on Saturday, 7 May, an unidentified African female dropped off the boy at Tygerberg Hospital with the security guards. She said that she had found the child in a parking area but did not indicate which parking area.

“The child does not seem to be able to speak any South African language.”
