A man allegedly dabbling with explosives has been arrested.
Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Lloyd Ramovha says 28-year-old Gerald John Olivier was arrested at his home in Kleinmond on Tuesday for contravening the Explosives Act.
Ramovha says: “He was found to be unlawfully in possession of explosives as well as ammunition. He has since appeared at Caledon Magistrates’ Court and the matter was postponed to 26 May for further investigation.
“The suspect remains in custody.”
According to sources this isn’t the unemployed man’s first brush with the law for having explosives in his possession.
