A 25-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death for allegedly stealing a cellphone.

A bloody trail of a dead body led cops to a house where three men were bust for murder.

It’s alleged the three suspects beat a Delft man to death in the street after accusing him of stealing a cellphone.

On Saturday, police were called to Lange Street, in the N2 Gateway, Delft, where the body of a 25-year-old man was found.

The cops noticed a blood trail leading away from the body and followed it to a house in the same street.

Police entered the house and found three males between the ages of 25 and 30 years old inside, “surrounded by blood”.

A police source, who can’t be named, says cops saw the blood trail and became suspicious.

“Police followed the blood trail to a house where there was blood inside,” he says.

“The suspects said to the officers that the man had stolen a cellphone.”

Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk says cops immediately arrested the men.

“Circumstances surrounding the death of a 25-year-old male are under investigation,” he says.

“The suspects appeared in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on Monday.”
