Jennifer Lopez is no longer coming to South Africa.
The star was supposed to be the headline act at the ANN7 South African of The Year (SATY) Awards.
But the channel on Tuesday announced the third annual awards show has been postponed, which means neither J.Lo or Robin Thicke will be coming to SA any longer.
The show was meant to take place in Johannesburg on November 25 but has now been postponed to an unconfirmed time next year.
And according to ANN7, which is owned by the Guptas, the political heat the family has been getting since they were named in the Public Protector’s State Of Capture report has nothing to do with the postponement. Instead, it blamed “logistics”.
In a statement, the broadcaster says: “The postponement is due to unforeseen regulatory circumstances that have materially impacted on logistics for the event. Regretfully this has left us with no choice but to seek a new date in the near future.”
The EFF previously urged celebs to boycott the Gupta show, but hosts Bonang Matheba and Jeannie D were min gespin and on Twitter urged mense to buy tickets.
Neither commented about the postponement yesterday.
The awards show allows the public to vote for their favourites in different categories including Sport and Entertainment.
