Highlands Park are one point away from the PSL big time after putting AmaTuks on the brink of relegation.
The Vaal Triangle side stunned Shaun Bartlett’s Students 1-0 on Saturday, leaving the 15th-placed top-flight finishers needing to win their last two games and needing Highlands Park to lose their games to stay up.
Coach Bartlett feels his side performed better in Saturday’s loss to Highlands Park than in their previous defeat to Mbombela United.
But the former Bafana Bafana and Charlton striker will probably be hoping that someone in his side could convert the chances up front after a number of wasted opportunities.
He says: “I think the performance was better than the last time out, but it’s about taking your chances, taking that responsibility when you get into the final third.”
Highlands Park take on Mbombela on Wednesday and should they get a draw at home they will be promoted to the PSL.
