All Blacks scrumhalf Aaron Smith was caught with his pants down and as a result, he screwed up his side’s chances of a record-equalling 17th straight Test win when they face South Africa in Durban tomorrow (5.05pm).
The ougat No.9 proved that not only does he know his way around the scrum, but has some trickery up his sleeve in public places too.
The Highlanders ace was caught allegedly having sex with a cherry in a disabled airport toilet nogal, a witness outside the cubicle saying “the noises coming out, there was no doubt what they were up to”.
It didn’t go down well with his coach, and obviously his girlfriend back home, so Smith was subsequently suspended from this weekend’s match and also went back home to smooth things over with his partner.
New Zealand coach Steve Hansen explains: “On the Sunday after the South
African Test at the Christchurch Airport, Aaron and a female friend were seen by members of the public to enter the disabled toilets.
“On our arrival to South Africa we were informed of this. I had a conversation with Aaron on Tuesday and he confirmed the story. As a result of that the leadership group met and were unanimous in the fact that behaviour wasn’t acceptable and as a
consequence a one-match suspension would be put in place.”
