Cops have arrested an alleged drug mule with R25 000 worth of uncut tik at a suspected drug den in Woodstock.
It’s believed the female suspect is the main supplier of the tik den.
Cops made the breakthrough on Tuesday in Pine Road, suspected to be one of the biggest drug dens in the community.
Cops believe the house is one of a few more in the same street involved in the illegal drug trade.
And at one house cops fooled a 31-year-old suspect into believing they found nothing.
But they quickly returned and allegedly found her in possession of a sealed plastic bag containing five grams of uncut tik.
Woodstock Police Station spokesperson, Sergeant Hilton Malila, says she is expected to make her first appearance at the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Friday on charges of dealing in and possession of drugs.
“Project Pine Road is reaping good successes as members once again out-think the main drug dealer.
“Woodstock police members made good inroads in drug trafficking when soon after they raided one of the houses where the drugs are being stored, swooped within an hour at the main drug outlet.
“’With drug mules thinking police are not returning after the first catch, the element of surprise kicked in when the members returned and confiscated five grams of uncut tik still sealed in a big plastic bag in the possession of the 31-year-old drug peddler.
“Information received revealed the arrested woman is the main supplier at the Pine Road settlement.”
Malila says: “The estimated street value of the tik was
R25 000.”
